Bodies of 2 youths fished out of Brahmaputra River

The bodies of two persons drowned last evening in river Brahmaputra near Kokilamukh Shanti Ashram in Assam's Jorhat were recovered today, the police said.

The bodies were fished out by divers of the Indian Army here, they said.

Both bodies were handed over to the police for post mortem and they handed over to their family members, they said.

They were identified as Debojit Kalita (30) and Sanjib Neog (29) from Patia Gaon.

The two were members of a picnic group, who were reported to have drowned when they went to take bath in river Brahmaputra near Kokilamukh Shanti Ashram. Police, CRPF and SDRF were pressed into service to find the missing youths.
