Bodies of brothers who drowned in Powai lake fished out

Bodies of two brothers, who drowned in Powai lake have been fished out by fire-brigade personnel, police said today.

Saddam Abdul Shaikh (22) and Aslam Abdul Shaikh (24) drowned in the lake at Chandiwali, Kurla area last night around 22.05 PM, said police.

The brothers along with another friend had gone to Powai lake in the night. However, it is not clear what they were doing there, said police.

Aslam and his another friend jumped in to save Saddam, but, were not able to rescue him and they started drowning, police said.

Their friend was rescued by villagers. But, both the brothers drowned, they said. Fire brigade was pressed into rescue operation and they zeroed in on the bodies of both the brothers, late night, official said.
