Borewell tragedy:Govt announces Rs 2 lakh relief to girl's kin

State Government has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the family of a four-year-old girl who died recently when she fell into an open borewell at Nagathana village, near Bijapur.
A government release said Bijapur District in-charge Minister M B Patil has also announced a compensation of Rs one lakh on his personal behalf.
The round-the-clock operation launched on June 17 evening ended with the rescue teams finding the body of Akshata Hanumanth Patil at a depth of about 26 feet in the abandoned borewell.
