Hosts Bengaluru Bulls defeated Bengal Warriors 37-24 in a one-sided match of the Pro Kabaddi League at the Kanteerva Indoor Stadium here today to keep their hopes alive for a semifinal spot.

It was the Bulls who completely dominated the second half after a neck-and-neck battle in the first half against Warriors, much to the delight of a vociferous home crowd.

With this win Bulls remained fifth in the league table, bagging 36 points in 11 games.

Bulls began fiercely and were leading 15-12 at the breather, but the visitors, who were lagging 3-7 in the first timeout, made a spirited comeback. It was 12-12 with four minutes remaining after Bengal defenders threw raider Ajay off the court.

But Bengaluru marched ahead 15-12 after Manjit got Shyam, which left Bengal staring at an all-out attack with two men standing.

After a fiercely fought battle in the first half, Bengaluru clearly dominated the second half, getting better of the Warriors taking the final score to 37-24 in their favour.

Bulls best raider Ajay Thakur did not stop his charge against Warriors as he executed his plans to make successful raids. Like a charging bull, Thakur with a brilliant raid took down Jang Kun Lee, grabbing three points and leaving Warriors down 15-23.

Manjeet Chillar was awarded the best defender of the match.
