Car hits cycle, child dies

A cycle-borne child died in a

road accident on NH-36 at Kathiatoli in central Assam's Nagaon district today, police sources said.

The child was knocked down by a car belonging to Kaki Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jayanta Kalita who, however, was not in the vehicle at the time of the accident, the sources said.

The deceased child was identified as Haren Kalita.
