CBI registers fresh graft case relating to CWG

Agency sources said former Secretary General Organising Committee Lalit Bhanot, one other senior member of the committee Manish Kumar besides a Netherland-based company have been named in the case registered by it.

The agency is probing alleged irregularities in financial transactions made with the company.

They said it has come to light that while the contract was for payments in US dollars, actual payment was done in rupees.

The agency had recently carried out searches at the residential premises of some OC officials with regards to the case, they said.

CBI probe showed alleged excess payments were made to the company for its services for running the Games news service which chronicled and disseminated news related to happenings at the mega sporting event.
