Central govt team to take stock of losses to farmers in UP

A team of Central government officials will tour Uttar Pradesh from today to take stock of losses to farmers due to rain and hailstorm.

"A team of officers from the Centre will be touring the state from today to take stock of the situation and losses to farmers due to rain and hailstorm," BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai said here.

The Central team will visit Jalaun, Hamirpur, Banda, Mahoba, Jhansi, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, Badaun, Bareilly, Sambhal, Unnao, Kanpur, Etawah and Kannauj districts and will give their report to the Centre.

He said that the Centre was committed to provide all help to farmers and if needed amendment would be made in Law pertaining to giving compensation to farmers.
 

Central ministers Nitin Gadkari, Hairbhai Chowdhury and Ram Kripal Yadav had already visited Agra, Aligarh and Meerut districts to access farmers' losses.
