Chana prices eased by 0.34 per cent to Rs 3,779 per quintal in futures market today as participants reduced exposure following subdued demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March declined by Rs 13, or 0.34 per cent, to Rs 3,779 per quintal with an open interest of 7,770 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in April contracts shed Rs 3, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 3,697 per quintal in 89,940 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in chana futures to cutting down of positions by traders, taking negative leads from physical markets muted demand against sufficient stocks position.
