Chana prices were lower by 0.92 per cent to Rs 3,561 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in February declined by Rs 33, or 0.92 per cent to Rs 3,561 per quintal with an open interest of 1,07,860 lots.

Similarly, the commodity for delivery in March contracts declined by Rs 25, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 3,617 per quintal in 1,34,080 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly pulled down chana prices at futures trade.
