In order to gain from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's "rich experience" in the state, especially in implementing social welfare schemes, BJP has designated him as the convener for meeting of the party-ruled states on August 27.

"The Chief Minister has been designated as the Convener of the party-ruled states' meeting with BJP chief Amit Shah on August 27," sources close to Chouhan said.

In a recent meeting, Madhya Pradesh BJP's core committee deliberated on the agenda to be discussed in the meet and Chouhan will formulate it in consultation with other BJP-ruled states.

"BJP made Chouhan the convener of the meeting in view of his rich experience, especially in implementing social welfare schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna, Stand-up India, Toilet scheme, Ladli Laxmi Yojna and Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojna, among others," they said.
