Over 350 Coast Guard personnel accompanied by their family members and others undertook a 'Swachhta Walk' today in Noida as part of the government's cleanliness drive.

The walk, aimed at spreading awareness about the campaign among the locals, was held by a group which was composed mostly of the members of Coast Guard's upcoming Republic Day parade contingent.

"The aim of the march was not only to clean the area but also spread awareness about the utility of the campaign," Coast Guard said in a release.

The 10-km long walk from Noida Sector 24 to Sector 52 was flagged off by Coast Guard Additional Director General Rajendra Singh. The group taking part in the walk removed garbage, torn banners and hoardings along the route, the release added.
