Under a new policy, small shopkeepers in Haryana will get upto Rs 5 lakh compensation in case of loss of their property due to fire or any other natural disaster, state government said today.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda made the announcement at a public meeting at Samalkha of Panipat district.
Hooda also announced the decision to give the status of tehsil to Bapoli and that of block to Sanauli.

Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various projects worth Rs 66 crore in Samalkha.
He inaugurated the mini-secretariat in Samalkha which has been built at the cost of Rs 47 crore.
Hooda also inaugurated a railway over-bridge on Chuklana road built at the cost of Rs 18.57 crore and sewerage treatment plant at Samalkha.
