Congress leaders from Telangana thank Sonia Gandhi

Congress leaders from Telangana today held a public meeting in Nizamabad district to thank the party leadership for accepting the separate statehood demand.

The meeting at Bodhan is the first in a series of public meetings planned by the party leaders from Telangana to celebrate the acceptance of their long-pending demand.

Speaking on the occasion, state Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy said coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions would not face any problems with regard to sharing of resources like water, etc, post Telangana.

The two Telugu-speaking states can prosper together with a sense of harmony, he said.

Hailing the leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha said all Congress leaders should now work for the development of Telangana.
 

Major Irrigation Minister P Sudarshan Reddy also thanked the Congress President.

Senior Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao alleged it was leaders from Rayalaseema like Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who were instrumental in raising the separate Telangana demand in the past.
