Constable injured as bullet misfires from own service rifle

A constable of the West Bengal Police injured himself, while allegedly loading his rifle at the Bhawani Bhawan today, the police said.

Constable Ganesh Soren (47) of the West Bengal Police injured himself after a bullet was misfired and hit his leg while he was allegedly loading his service rifle at Alipore Police Lines inside Bhawani Bhawan this afternoon, a senior officer of the force said.

Soren was rushed to the state-run SSKM where he was treated for the injury, he said adding his condition was stable.
