Cop, civic employee held by ACB in separate bribery cases

In two separate incidents, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested two government employees, including a police inspector, accepting bribes, said police here today.

Police inspector Shankar Poojari, attached to the Mulund police station, was held taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a club owner named Dinesh Patil.

A senior inspector of Mulund police station confirmed his arrest.

In the second case, a 33-year-old employee of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), identified as Anil Khobraji Rathod, was arrested by ACB. He worked as a lorry inspector in BMC ward A.

Besides, a private person -Vijay Shankar Shetty (35), who acted as a mediator, was also arrested.
 

According to ACB sleuths, Rathod had asked Rs 2,600 for releasing seized goods.
