Copper futures fall on low spot demand

Copper futures fell 0.24 per cent to Rs 409.35 per kg today as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to subdued demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month April declined by Re 1, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 409.35 per kg in a business turnover of 15 lots.
The metal for delivery in February shed 90 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 406.75 per kg in a business volume of 1,286 lots.
Analysts said a weak trend in select industrial metals at the domestic spot markets due to weak demand amid profit-booking at prevailing levels, mainly weighed on metal prices here.
