Coriander prices plunged by 4 per cent to hit lower circuit at Rs 8,001 per quintal in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, coriander for delivery in far-month April fell sharply by Rs 333, or 4 per cent to Rs 8,001 per quintal with an open interest of 9,180 lots.
The spice for delivery in January traded lower by Rs 252, or 2.16 per cent to Rs 11,430 per quintal in 4,370 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to persistent supplies from producing belts against subdued demand in the spot market, mainly pulled down coriander prices at futures trade.
