Couple get life term for killing man for over a petty loan

A couple was sentenced to life imprisonment by a local here today for killing a man for his failure to pay them back a paltry sum of Rs 30,000.

Additional D N Ray of Bankura fast track also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on convicts Mujibur Khan and Kasari Bibi, stipulating that if they fail to pay it, they would undergo an additional jail term of one year which would run concurrently.

Moloy Ghosh (35) had gone missing last year in January and his brother Nirmal lodged a complaint with the police on January 8, 2016.

During the search Ghosh's body was found near the couple's house at Badulara village.

During investigation it was found that Ghosh owed the couple Rs 30,000 and the couple killed him for his failure to pay them back.
