Couple tries to commit suicide by jumping in canal
A young couple allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping in a canal at Nigrani village here over objection to their marriage by their respective families, police said today.
The girl (17) and her lover (20) belong to different communities, Circle Officer Akul Ahmed said.
The couple has been rushed to a hospital in a serious condition, he said.
