An advocate, who is one of the accused in the murder of a Meerut-based lawyer, was granted bail by a local court here.

District Judge Rama Jain yesterday granted bail to advocate Shahid Rana in the murder case of Rajiv Upadhay and directed him to furnish two sureties of Rs one lakh each.

On June 11, 27-year-old Rajiv was allegedly shot dead by his paramour's husband Shahnazar, his two brothers Shahnoor and Shahbaz and Rana in Sujru village.

All four accused have been arrested in the case.
