Courtney Love to play Joey King's mum in bestseller adaptation

Rocker-actress Courtney Love and teenage actor Joey King are set to play mother and daughter in the big screen adaptation of Dominique Paul's novel "The Possibility of Fireflies".

King, who bears a striking resemblance to Love's real-life daughter Frances Bean Cobain, will star in the coming-of-age film, which is set in the late 1980s.

The 51-year-old "Hole" singer plays her character's self-destructive mother.

Filming is set to begin in Canada this summer, shortly after the release of "Independence Day: Resurgence", which features King.
