A daily wage worker has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here for killing a man whom he suspected of having an illicit relationship with his wife.
The prosecution case was that Kali (41) of Panankattur village in this district suspected his wife's fidelity and had warned her against continuing the 'relationship' with the man.
Kali also used to have frequent arguments with him.

On the night of December 3 2013, the man was walking on the main road when Kali approached him on a cycle and they started quarrelling.
In a fit of anger, he took a spade kept on his cycle and attacked the man, killing him on the spot.
Kali was later arrested.
Principal District Judge G P Elango before whom the case came up yesterday, sentenced Kali to life imprisonment.
He was taken to Coimbatore Central Prison late last night.
