The body of an unidentified man was today found at the site of the just-concluded World Culture Festival on the Yamuna floodplains here, police said.

The body, which was found in a highly-decomposed state, was not there when the entire area was scanned after the three-day cultural extravaganza organised by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation came to an end last night.

It was spotted by some labourers today morning, a senior police official said.

"The highly-decomposed body is suspected to have been brought down by river current to the floodplains here," the official said, adding that the details in this regard have been uploaded on the zonal integrated police network system.

The cause of death can be confirmed only by post-mortem, the official added.

Hedgewar Hospital authorities, however, claimed, "no

chikungunya or dengue death have taken place in our hospital this season."

"We are getting 800-1,000 people in our fever clinics every day but only 18-20 people have been confirmed to have been diagnosed with chikungunya," a senior doctor said.
