Delhi Judicial Service Association condemns lawyers' strike

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

The Judicial Service Association (DJSA) today condemned the day-long strike by lawyers of all the six district courts in the national capital today to protest the alleged misconduct of some judges.

The association termed the allegations levelled against the judicial officers as "baseless" and said that such act is "condemnable".

"We unanimously resolve that judges remain an easy target for those who wish to asperse the reputation of the judge out of the grudge or disgruntling from the court's orders," DJSA president Rajesh Malik said.

He further said that such allegations damage the image of judiciary and deserves strong disapproval.

The lawyers at the Tis Hazari had gone on a strike on October 11 to protest the alleged "rude behaviour" of a magistrate which was extended to all other district courts - Patiala House, Karkardooma, Saket, Dwarka and Rohini.

Chauhan claimed the Bar has got an assurance that a strict and appropriate action would be taken against the magistrate of Tis Hazari and other erring judges.
