Demonetised notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, with a total face value of Rs 99 lakh, were seized from a vehicle in the district Sunday and four people arrested in this connection, police said.
During a vehicle check in Karuppayoorani near here, a police team intercepted a car and found the demonetised notes in it, they said adding four occupants of the car were arrested.
Investigation is on, police said.
On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced his government's decision to demonetise Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes.
