A Deputy Superintendent of Police posted in the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Police Station in Dhar town was arrested by Lokayukta police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.
The DSP identified as Brajesh Singh Kushwaha allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from Shahid Khan for "settling" a complaint lodged by a person from the Banjara community in connection with the purchase of a land, Lokayukta SP Arun Mishra said.
Later Khan tipped off the Lokayukta police about it after which a trap was laid and Kushwaha was nabbed by Lokayukta sleuths when he took Rs 50,000 from Khan at his residence.

Kushwaha had allegedly threatened Khan that if he did not pay Rs 50,000, then he would be framed in the matter without any investigation.
A case was registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Kushwaha and further investigations are on, Mishra said.
