An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) was arrested here today by the vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 in connection with a disputed land deal case.
ASI Balbir Singh was posted in the Economic Wing of the Ludhiana police commissionerate.
He was caught by the vigilance department team of Mohali while taking the bribe in the court complex.

Singh had sought the bribe for not producing the case record before the court at Fatehgarh Sahib, a Vigilance Bureau spokesman said.
He was taken to Mohali for further investigations, the spokesman said.
