DHL Express expands service facility in TN

Logistics service provider DHL Express of the DHL Group today announced the expansion by opening a new service centre in Madurai, taking the total number of such facilities in the State to nine.

The 5,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility would serve neighbouring districts of Virudhunagar and Sivakasi, a press release from the company said.

The centre would provide easy access between and Bengaluru Gateway, saving one or two days on the overall shipment transit, the release said.

"With evolving as a prominent trade hub for numerous industries, investment by DHL will help the growth of international trade from this cluster", of DHL Express India RS Subramanian said in the release.

"Our new centre reinforces our ongoing commitment to the thriving community in and provides significant service improvement for customers", he said.

The expansion was part of the Euro 45 million investment plans of the company to set up infrastructure in key industrial clusters across the country, it added.
