A local court sentenced a physician named Uttam Pundlikrao Kagne here today, to two months of simple imprisonment, for not maintaining proper records under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1000, which if not paid, would ensure his simple imprisonment for another one month.
According to the prosecution, on July 5, 2011, civil surgeon Pratap Jadhav and his team raided Tirupati Diagnostic Centre, located at Kacheri road at Old Jalna and found lapses in forms and reports.

Later, Jadhav lodged a complaint against Kagne.
A case was registered against Kagne under the PCPNDT Act and the chargesheet was presented before the court.
