The special session called for passing the new Lokayukta Bill in Uttarakhand Assembly has been deferred amidst disruptions by the Opposition BJP in the House today.
The Bill will be taken up on December 20 along with other legislations, Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal said, deferring from the previously scheduled dates of January 13, 15 and 16.
Earlier, when the special 3-day session of the assembly witnessed stormy start after the Governor Aziz Qureshi's address, with opposition legislators raising issues of weakening law and order situation in the state.
BJP members, led by Anjay Bhatt, also protested the charge-sheeting of MLA Rajkumar Thukral in the Rudraprayag communal riots case, saying it was politically motivated.
