Doctor commits suicide by consuming acid

A 30-year-old woman doctor allegedly committed suicide by consuming acid owing to a family dispute in Ramanthapuram here today, police said.

The victim Jamunadevi, working in a government hospital in Dharmapuri, was found struggling for life at her house following which she was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where she was declared brought dead, they said.

Family dispute is said to be the reason behind her taking the extreme step, police said, adding, a case has been registered.
