DRI detects tax evasion of around Rs 56 cr by Raj firm

Directorate of Revenue intelligence (DRI) has detected tax evasion of around Rs 56 crore allegedly by a manufacturing firm in Vishwakarma area in the city, an official said today.
The firm evaded sales tax of Rs 55 crore and VAT of Rs 93,000. The tax evasion was detected after the DRI examined its papers, the official said.
A preliminary enquiry (PE) has been registered against the businessman.
