'Drunken' man bangs 3-year-old son against vehicle, flees

: A man allegedly drunk banged his three-year-old son against an autorickshaw here, police said today.

Shiva Goud (40), an auto-rickshaw driver, is absconding and a search is on for him, they said.

The child, who was injured, has been hospitalised and is out of danger, a police inspector P Srinivas said.

"The boy's mother was not ready to give complaint against her husband, but we registered a suo moto case under relevant sections of Child Care and Protection Act and Juvenile Justice Act," the inspector said.

The boy has been handed over to Child Welfare Committee, the police official added.
