Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral officer Sandeep Saxena today said the election commission will decide when the state assembly polls could be held.
"The election commission will decide," he said when reporters asked when the assembly polls could be held.
Election to the state assembly is due next year.
Asked about DMK leader M.K.Stalin's allegation that many of his party workers' names had been removed from the electoral list, he said: "I do not know."
The officer had arrived here with his family to offer worship at the Ramanathaswamy temple.
