Eight police constables suspended for dereliction of duty

Eight police constables attached to Umarkhed and police headquarters here have been suspended for alleged dereliction of duty and indiscipline.

The action was taken against four constables in Umarkhed by district SP after a burglary of Rs 12 lakh was committed at the house of the police station officer and another theft at residence of brother-in-law of former MLA Prakash Patil Deosarkar of Umarkhed.

The constables posted at the headquarters were suspended after a life term convict escaped from hospital where he was admitted.

The names of constables are Anil Nemade, Anand Shelke, Vinod Jadhav and Keshav Chavan---all from Umarkhed police station, and Arun Lavate, Ankush Shelke, Rajendra Nagmote and Samadhan Dhaibhaye from police headquarters.
