A 60-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by some unknown persons in Rabodi area of Thane city, police said today.
The woman, Suman Kidare, was killed yesterday when she was alone at her home in Rustomjee housing complex of the city, they said.
When her son returned from work, he found his mother dead at home.
The woman was strangled with a saree and had injuries on her face, police said, adding they were probing the crime.
No arrest has been made so far in connection with the killing.
Police have ruled out the possibility of theft as the reason behind the murder.
