Electrocution sparks off protest

Superintendent of Police Nitasha Gudia said the private electrician Kanhaiya Sharma was electrocuted after he came in contact with live wire on a pole during repair works.

The irate local people gathered on the spot and blocked NH-28 before setting on fire the sub-divisional police officer's vehicle and pelted stones on the SP's vehicle injuring her security guard Jaiprakash, she said.

Gudia said additional police reinforcement were requisitioned to bring the situation under control and added that five persons were arrested.
