The Madras High Court today granted anticipatory bail to former minister T M Selvaganapathy in a case registered against him over an altercation following an 'internal political dispute.'

The case was registered at the Pallipatti police station in Salem district on October 27.

Apprehending arrest Selvaganapathy moved the court.

Justice N Audhinathan granted the relief while allowing an application from Selvaganapathy, subject to usual conditions such as appearing before the investigating officer daily until further orders.

According to Selvaganapathy, there was internal political dispute between him and another person and there was a wordy quarrel between them.

He sought anticipatory bail stating that another person, who was allegedly involved, was granted the relief.

Selvaganapathy, a former AIADMK minister, is now in the DMK.
