Family tries to poison girl for 'honour'

A minor girl's father and uncle have been booked for allegedly trying to poison her after she married a man of her choice in Muzaffarnagar district, police said today. The girl's father and uncle have been absconding after a police complaint was registered against them yesterday. The girl has been admitted to a hospital in the district, they said. According to police, the girl had married a man against the wishes of her family and the family members tried to poison her when she came to their residence in Ladhwala area.
