Stressing on effective implementation of welfare schemes in rural areas, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today asked officials to fast-track development works in villages.

Naidu, who held a tele-conference with heads of the departments and also village-level officials, asked the Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao to convene a coordination meeting with Finance, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments, a state government release said.

The meeting would aim at ensuring convergence for management of internal roads, solid waste management, farm ponds, lavatories and NREGA.

Naidu, who toured Vizianagaram district yesterday, said pensions and rice distribution are being carried out without any hiccups.

The money allotted under SC, ST and BC sub-plan is being spent well.

He further said that supply of free 50 units of power to families below poverty line is being appreciated.
