A tribal man and his son were beheaded allegedly by some unidentified assailants at Salabani in Balasore district today.
Sania Sing (65) and his son Babuli Sing (24) were beheaded by an axe while they were asleep in their house, Sub-Divisional police officer of Nilagiri, S R Mahapatra said.
Property dispute seemed to be prima facie cause of the incident, but investigation was in progress, he said.
Five people were taken into custody for interrogation.
