FB leaders, workers join TMC, claims Mukul Roy

Many leaders and workers of Forward Bloc today joined the Trinamool Congress in Jalpaiguri district, a stronghold of the prominent constituent of the Left Front.

TMC all-India general secretary Mukul Roy claimed in a press conference here, "Prabal Raha, state committee member, Shubhankar Mishra, state secretary of Chatra Bloc, the students' wing of the party and a number of other leaders and workers of Forward Bloc joined Trinamool Congress today,"

Prithwis Bagchi, North 24-Parganas district committee member of the Forward Bloc also joined the ruling party in the state along with other party workers, apart from some leaders and workers in Nadia district, Roy said.
 

He claimed that workers and leaders of several opposition parties were joining Trinamool Congress in support of its strive for development of the state.

"In 2011, we had sought people's support against the Left Front's failure, but after that we have won all the elections on the basis of Mamata Banerjee's efforts for development," Roy said.
