Feasibility study for Sagar deep sea port done: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today said the technical and feasibility study for the Sagar port is completed and the work will start in March.

"The Sagar port which will come up will be an addition to the major ports of the country and their number will go up to 13," the Union Shipping and Highways Minister said at the Bengal Global Business Summit here.

The technical and feasibility study for the Sagar port has already been completed and a overbridge would be set up a cost of Rs 2000 crore, he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be coming shortly to lay the foundation stone and work would start by March this year, he said.
 

The union minister said that both in ports and roads sectors, the Centre would make a combined investment of Rs 52,000 crore.

There are plans also to connect Delhi and Kolkata by an express highway through access control, he added.
