Female elephant dies in Maharashtra

A female elephant - Jayalaxmi from Allapalli forest rage passed away after falling in nullah, forest officials said today.

The elephant, which was engaged in transporting wood, died yesterday, an official of the forest department said.

She had delivered two children - Vanrani and Vaibhav, but both of them died, he said.
