The post-mortem report on the four-year-old girl, whose decomposed body was recovered from a room on the terrace of a building in New Town's Shibtala area yesterday, revealed that two of her fingers were chopped off when she was alive, the police said today.
Though there was no instance of any sexual molestation in the PM report, it was understood that the girl was "physically tortured" and two of her fingers were chopped off, a senior official of the Bidhannagar Police said.
In fact, the four-year-old was strangulated to death on Monday, the day when she went missing, the report mentioned, he said.
