An FIR against seven persons including Dausa Zila Pramukh and three policemen was lodged in connection with death of a complainant in Halena police station in the district.

The FIR was lodged last night by the deceased's son against the Dausa Zila Pramukh (District Chief), Ajit Singh, one ASI, two constable and three others, police said.

The complainant Kishore Jogi, who lodged a complaint against some locals for stealing his tractor, was found dead in the police station few days back.

This led to protest by locals and his family members, who have refused to accept his body.

It was alleged by his family members that Jogi had gone to the police station for a settlement meeting and stayed at the police station at night fearing attack on him by the accused.

They alleged that Jogi was beaten by the policemen which led to his death last week.

When the matter came to light, the entire staff of the police station were shunted to the police lines.

"A case has been registered and the matter is under investigation," police said, adding, that postmortem of the body could not be done so far.
