The district administration will register FIR against 22 'delinquent' election officials for being absent in a meeting convened today to take stock of the preparedness ahead of Panchayat Elections in Uttar Pradesh.
An FIR will be registered against 22 'delinquent' election officials who skipped the meeting which was convened at ITS college auditorium in Duhai village on Delhi-Meerut road, said District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma.
200 returning and polling officers were directed to attend the meeting out of which 178 officials were present, he said.
11 returning officers and 11 first polling officers will face prosecution as orders have been passed to register an FIR against them, said Sharma.
