Five drown in Banas river

Five members of a family drowned in the Banas river in Rajasthan's Tonk district, police said today.

27-year old Zuber and his wife Mariam (21) had along with other family members gone to the banks of the Banas river for a picnic last evening.

They went deep into the river and drowned, Additional SP, Tonk, Vinit kumar Bansal said.

The other family members tried to pull them out but were unsuccessful.

The bodies were pulled out by divers and handed over to family members last night.
