Football payer dies in road mishap in Howrah

The captain of a local football club died in a road accident in Howrah district tonight.

Police said that the motorcycle which Chandrashis Dey (25), the captain of Aryan football club, was moving on following a match collided with a vehicle on National Highway 6 at Ankurhati.

The vehicle sped away after the incident with police saying that Dey died on the spot.

The body has been taken to Howrah hospital for a post- mortem, police said, adding that further investigations are on in the matter.
