Foreign national arrested

A foreign national has been arrested from Agartala-Akhaura check post in Tripura while trying to enter Bangladesh with a fake visa certificate, police said today.

36-year-old Niccodom Dramo of Ghana who identified himself to be a garment trader, was arrested by the special branch police on Sunday last.

Dramo had entered India on September 9, 2010 and was absconding for the last four years after expiry of his visa.

The police recovered 600 dollars, 12,500 euro and Rupees 10,000 from his possession.

The police was investigating the motive for his overstaying in the country and reasons to go to Bangladesh.
